NEW Bonchiku 2.4 shakuhachi $4800. First class condition. Larger than average bore and finger-holes. Big, responsive, complex and highly-refined tone. This shakuhachi was Bonchiku's personal concert performance instrument for a long time and he worked on it and refined the bore and finger holes over many years. The spacing of the holes is particularly accessible and comfortable. The lowest hole is large and shaped to follow the finger slope. Tsu meri is very nice. The balance of the notes through the octaves is exquisite. Lovely nakatsuki joint rings over gold foil. The bamboo is of high quality dense material. Minimal use of ji in the bore. Easy to play.
